SALARY - £30,000 - £35,000

Reporting to the Lead Buyer you will be responsible for developing the ranges, including achieving sales and profitability targets, sourcing new products, working with suppliers to meet the business targets...

Responsibilities will include:

• Achieving sales and profitability targets as agreed with the Lead Buyer
• Development of your selected range in line with market trends to deliver optimum commercial benefit
• Managing the supplier base to meet commercial objectives
• Assist in the development of trading plans for the range to deliver sales and profit targets
• Involvement in negotiations with Vendors
• Researching and responding to competitor and customer activity

The successful RETAIL Buyer will have prior experience within a buying team as a BUYER or TRAINEE BUYER ideally but not exclusively from within the DIY, Food or clothing sectors (Experience of working on work wear/clothing ranges would be a bonus). You will be highly numerate and commercial and be able to demonstrate your experience in analysing and interpreting large amounts of data. Your buying career to date will have given you experience of working to deadlines with the ability to multi task and work under pressure.
