Job Description

Our client is the leader in their industry and is part of a £2 billion turnover business. Due to growth in the company they are now looking for Business Development Manager to join them, and help grow their business across the south west of England.

Your focus will be to identify, position for and win major and strategic commercial bids and contractual negotiations across the Education and Training sector, up to £100M+.

You will be tasked with developing strong relationships with both clients and colleagues across the business, to ensure that bids are secured with a long term profitable contract.

To be successful in this role you will come with experience with complex and intensive competive commercial dialogue that shows your knowledge of risk awareness and mitigation, as well as a strong awareness of financial and legal implications.

Key Skills that you will possess are:

  • Negotiation skills - the ability to lead major complex negotiations and support the operations team by developing strong mitigation plans
  • Contractual Development - the ability to draft, negotiate and implement major contracts (£50million plus)
  • Contract Management - the ability to provide advice for dispute resolution, and to offer support to the operations teams for them to continue to develop their relationships with the clients
  • Preferably experience within the Education, Guidance and Training industry
  • Experience of tendering within the commercial dialogue framework
