Business Development Manager - Consumer I2M In-plant & Manufactu

Primary purpose of role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager within our Consumer division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in taking the following products forward within the Consumer division:
- Inbound to Manufacture (including procurement of materials)
- In-plant logistics
- Manufacturing services (including co-manufacturing)
Primary targets will be existing Consumer customers with UK manufacturing facilities and as time progresses this role will become more focused on new customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop the value proposition within Consumer for I2M, In-plant logistics and Manufacturing Services
- Gain an understanding of the needs of existing customers and how to add value to their business in this product area
- Actively develop matrix relationships between materials planners and buyers, logistics buyers and brand managers,
- Research and investigate innovative business opportunities which benefit the customer and are profitable for DHL
- Identify and build the key relationships to develop business opportunites
- Effectively manage conflicting agendas and understand and balance priorities
- Manage DHL's business development reporting tools to ensure accurate business information
- Produce exceptional proposal documentation
- Actively participate in collaboration activities for the success of new business
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with central resources
- Management of commercial and risk management
Skills / Experience
Essential
- Educated to university degree level or equivalent professional qualifications
- Manufacturing industry experience - Consumer/Automotive/LLP
- Inbound to Manufacturing/In-plant logistics/Manufacturing Services knowledge
- Able to quickly establish and maintain a wide network of trusting relationships
- Customer Management at a senior level
- Excellent analytical & processing skills
- Innovative, customer focussed approach
- IT literate
- Project Management
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to engage and coach team members at all levels
- Presentation design and delivery
- Microsoft applications incl. Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Project
Desirable
- 5 years experience in logistics
- Finance/Profit & Loss Management
- Operational Experience
