We are currently supporting one of the North East's most reputable Training Providers within the UK.
Due to growth, we are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager from within the Training and Education Sector.
The salary will be up to £28000, basic salary with bonus, mobile phone, laptop, pension scheme and generous mileage.
The Business Development Executive will be operationally based from Newcastle and will be responsible for the day to day management of the Employer Engagement and Apprenticeship Sales Team. The role will also entail attending business opportunities throughout the North East, to sell the services of our Training Provider. The Business Development Manager will be generating and attending appointments. A large percentage of this role will involve Account Management of existing accounts, cold calling and selling apprenticeship courses to companies within the North East.
Our client offer an extensive range of training programmes including employability courses and apprenticeships qualifications.
1. This Business Development To provide outstanding leadership to the Engagement Team
2. Co-ordination of delivery of Programmes for the Unemployed, ensuring excellent communication with key stakeholders including Jobcentre Plus Employer Engagement Managers to support decisions related to location in line with the job opportunities within their geographical remit.
3. Developing relationships with regional schools to ensure that this company becomes a viable and trusted progression route for young people, parents and school personnel.
4. Attendance at events attached to Skills Funding Agency initiatives to develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
5. Primary point of contact for key stakeholders such as Jobcentre Plus, National Careers Service, Connexions and Work Programme Prime and Sub Contractors providing outstanding representation of IDT.
6. Monthly reporting of tracking attendees' conversion to job offers and starts,
7. Leading on and developing appropriate marketing initiatives to increase the profile and presence of this company regionally. This includes ensuring that website is updated weekly.
8. Attendance at Senior Management Briefs responsible for accurate reporting on all activity related to Programmes for the Unemployed and Apprenticeship recruitment activity.
Team Management
1. The successful post-holder will be responsible for the management of a team of Employer Engagement Officers and Engagement Team Administrators.
2. Responsibility for managing weekly team meetings to ensure that targets are achieved and pipeline activity is reported effectively.
3. Ensuring that performance is managed effectively with responsibility for continuous monitoring of targets and setting clear action plans for individuals who may need support
4. Weekly monitoring of apprenticeship allocations to ensure reporting systems used to feedback at senior management meetings is accurate in relation to funding stream, expected numbers of starts and age split for apprenticeship activity.
5. Monitoring of applicant database in line with Programmes for the Unemployed ensuring that all expressions of interests are acted upon in a timely manner and referral information is recorded accurately.
6. Pricing of full cost / commercial training requests.
7. Full Cost / Commercial Training Delivery co-ordination in consultation with the Quality Assurance Manager.
Skills and Experience Required for the Business Development Manager
- Previous Experience of Business Development/Field Sales in a Business to Business Sector
- Previous experience of selling Apprenticeships is required.
- Experience of working with Job Centre+ and 3rd parties to engage learners onto different courses including people from NEET backgrounds
- Previous experience of delivering results through effective team management
- Experience/Knowledge of Funding for Apprenticeships.
- Target and Quality Focused, with a proven track record in exceeding sales targets
- Own Transport with no more than 6 points.
