Business Development Executive
Main Purpose of Job:
To use telephone and e-mail systems to contact key Company prospects and to arrange sales and presentation meetings for Company local Account Managers.
Main Responsibilities:
Telephoning, mailing and E-Mailing pre-identified customer prospects to set appointments for account managers or directly sell into a software solution (depending on volume)
- Responsible for making an average of 30 'contact made’ telephone calls per day to pre-agreed prospects, locating the decision maker within the organisation. To reach this we think the telemarketing executive needs approximately 70 calls a day
- When required, to endeavour to source leads within specified market sectors
- To generate an average of 3 relevant and qualified meetings per day per Account Manager from telephone calls, mailing and e-mailing activity
- If the volume is not sufficient sell into the TNT’t software solution
- To represent the Company in a professional and businesslike manner
Keeping Records of Prospect Communications on Goldmine
- Ensure that all client communication is accurately recorded on the designated software package
- To regularly 'clean’ files to ensure all information is up to date and relevant
- To regularly ensure contact details are correct
Updating Competitive Activity File
- To be aware of all competitive activity within the market and record in the appropriate manner
- Where necessary, to advise local Account Managers, Campaign Manager and Regional Sales Manager of any threat to the Company brand from competitor activity
- To assist the Campaign Manager in pre-empting any threat to the Company by issuing strategic marketing communications
Liaising with Company sales personnel in order to identify and agree customer prospects
- To work closely with the Campaign Manager and local Account Managers in order to identify key sectors for targeting
- To be aware of the decision making process within an organisation and target clients accordingly
- To be aware of constraints on Account Managers’ time and location and ensure meetings are suitably arranged

- Self-starter with excellent prioritisation and time management skills. Able to work with minimal supervision after agreeing objectives with line manager

- Ability to deal with colleagues in a professional, friendly and helpful manner
- Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively, especially verbally when using the telephone
- Numerate and literate
Key skills (Technical):
Essential
- A proven track record in telephone sales
- Previous experience with dealing with customers over the phone
- A methodical approach to keeping electronic records
Desirable
- Experience in a sales or business service environment is an advantage, especially in direct marketing services
Qualifications (General qualifications & Professional):
Essential
- Five or more GSCE/O-Levels would be expected. Good grasp of oral and written English is required and good level of mathematical ability
