Our client is a leading supplier of construction products. An opportunity has now arisen for a Branch Director / General Manager to join their team.

As a Branch Director / General Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a business strategy for one of our client's sites in line with the overall regional strategy.

You will ensure sustained growth and long term profitability of the company distribution function. This will involve establishing realistic annual budgets and objectives and ensuring they are met.

You will be tasked with effectively leading, training and motivation to members of staff. Working closely with all members of the team, you will establish and maintain the highest levels of customer service and work directly with brands to maintain specialisation across the site. Additionally, you will act as an evangelist for the SalesForce platform and ensure it is the primary sales tools within the branch.

Your other duties will include:

- Recruiting, developing, retaining and recognising the achievements of talented members of staff
- Ensuring the delivery of sales and profit growth to agreed budgets, business targets and KPIs
- Setting direction for sales activities within the business, recognising new opportunities to remain ahead of competitors
- Directing warehouse, logistics and transport activities, ensuring the implementation of best practice techniques

To be considered, you must have:

- At least five years' management experience
- Good background knowledge of the key principles and techniques involved in selling, purchasing, logistics, stock management and general management
- Knowledge and experience of the building trade
- An understanding of management techniques and best practice
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office packages and database packages

As a Branch Director / General Manager, you must be passionate about delivering the best possible service and target driven to aid in your quest to deliver continuous improvement across the company. Enthusiastic and dedicated, you must have superb communication and interpersonal skills and be at home when leading a team.

Distributor knowledge would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of the SalesForce platform.
