School Background
I am currently representing a leading International School that is looking for a new Biology teacher. The school is based in Alicante, Spain and provides an education of the highest quality for all of the students.
Children are encouraged to do their best at whatever they attempt, and to achieve their full potential in all areas. The staff set the very highest standards, not only academically, but also in terms of behaviour and social skills.
The pastoral care provides support and understanding as children progress through the school and meet new challenges. Values such as compassion, respect and friendliness are an integral part of the school's ethos. Clear boundaries and simple rules help make this International School a happy and safe place to learn. They expect our children to work hard, but also to enjoy themselves.
The school is three form entry, which means that they take in three new classes of Nursery aged children each year. The other year groups may have two or three classes, each with 25 children in.
All children are taught in mixed ability classes, with children of the same age. Children may be taught English, Maths or Spanish in smaller groups if the school consider support is needed. GCSE and "A" Level option groups are also considerably smaller given the degree of subject choices at these stages.
A major strength of the school is its rich cultural mix, with students from many different countries. Children learn to make friends and mix with people from a range of countries and cultural backgrounds.
