Job Description
Bilingual Carer Support & Development Worker
(English and Sylheti Speaking*)
Working within an exciting local project, you will provide practical and emotional support to carers of individuals with mental health problems. As part of your role you will contribute to the development of carers’ groups and services that reflect the diverse needs of this group.
You must have some experience, either in a personal, voluntary or paid capacity, with carers of people with mental health, together with an understanding of the impact of mental health difficulties on individuals and families. An NVQ Level3, or similar qualification in Social Care is required.
You will have the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively in both English and Sylheti. You will also have the ability to work independently and as part of team, providing a culturally-sensitive service to the diverse community which exists in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
