City Centre based Marine Offshore Services Company are looking for a Safety Officer who will also take of the responsibility of Designated Person Ashore to come onboard.

Job Description
Working within the Ship Management Team and reporting directly to the QHSE Manager the Safety Officer acts on his behalf on all quality, health, safety and environmental related matters.
• Reporting, developing and improving procedures in regard to QA systems, risk management and loss prevention
• Acts as Company Security Officer (CSO) and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the ISPS Code (security) on board the vessels
• Represents QHSE on board during vessel inspection/surveys and keeps a record of Port State Control, ensuring that these inspections/survey are evaluated and observed
• Responsible for the implementation of the ISM code onboard all vessels assigned to them, raising concerns on safety and pollution prevention issues, as necessary, with the highest level of management
• Visits the vessels at regular intervals to have a critical look at the security and safety aspects on board and at the relevant working instructions, and executes ISM and ISPS audits on board
• Ensures that all vessels assigned to them are kept in certification with regards to the ISM & ISPS codes
• Tracks the quality, safety and security standards on board the vessels and if necessary takes appropriate and timely actions to meet the or enhance the current standards
• Ensures appropriate training, coaching and monitoring on safety aspects of all vessel crews and office staff to meet regulations and improve safety awareness
• Provides cover for the QHSE Manager within the Emergency Response Team (ERT) role and co-ordinates the research team in the event of incidents involving a high risk of injury and/or damage
• Is a member of the Accident Investigation Team.
Person Specification
You should be educated at Higher Vocational level and preferably hold a Occupational Safety Qualification.
You should also have ;
• Excellent knowledge of Safety & QA systems
• Previous work experience in the marine industry
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work well within a team and work to deadlines
