Atos Apprenticeships offer an opportunity for young people aged 18 years and over to build a career in IT in software development, as an alternative to taking the more traditional university route. Within an 18 month period, you will develop your skills via a combination of formal training (through QA Apprenticeships) and a structured internal program of hands-on experiences and development opportunities, equipping you with the skills most relevant to a "real-life" job.

This Higher Level Apprenticeship will lead to formal qualifications from City & Guilds, e-skills UK, Oracle and a Higher National Certificate. Further progression options will then be considered after successful completion of the 18 month programme.

"At Atos we are committed to developing people, providing them with challenging and rewarding careers. Apprenticeship schemes are now a key part of our strategy for recruiting future talent into our business.- Kevin Wilkinson Senior Vice President Human Resources Atos

You will study towards industry recognised qualifications whilst earning a salary of £12,000.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 SCE Standard Grades at grade 3 and above including English and Maths. You will also have completed SCE Highers or equivalent in at least one technical subject. Most important is your interest in IT and your enthusiasm for the apprenticeship.

During your training, you will study the following certifications with QA.

  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specalist (MCTS) in Windows 7 Configuration.
  • Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1
  • SVQ Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence

Future Prospects: Your employer will review your salary at the end of the apprenticeship, depending on the skills you’ve gained. If you show real commitment and success throughout your apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to progress within the organisation.
