My client is an international biopharmaceutical company with operations in Europe, North America, Australia and Japan; this is an opportunity to join an industry leader at an exciting time in their 30 year history.

They are seeking an Associate Scientist, to join their development team. This position will suit a graduate in a relevant scientific discipline and is an excellent start to a career in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry.

Key duties

• To perform routine duties in the relevant laboratory section in order to ensure the timely generation of accurate data and information.
• To ensure all activities follow standard operating procedures and/or protocols and, where appropriate, are performed in compliance with GMP.
• To assist in the compilation of data and information for the preparation of reports generated by the laboratory.
• To maintain all relevant documentation accurately, correctly and up to date.
• To perform project work as directed.
• To actively participate in the general housekeeping of the relevant laboratory or pilot facilities as required.
• To initiate and write new standard operating procedures and other documents/reports/protocols as and when required.
• To perform project work for the development and validation of equipment, test procedures, processes and systems as directed.
• To provide hands on support during pilot scale and clinical batch manufacture to ensure product is made to plan and budget as required.
• To follow health and safety guidelines as issued by the company.
• Ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with the company values.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by the Technical Lead or Manager.

Requirements

• Relevant higher education qualification e.g. degree, higher national certificate/diploma
• Computer literate.
• Experience in a similar laboratory environment (desirable but not essential).
