Our client based in Worsley is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for a 12 month contract with a view to permanent.
You will be responsible for taking responsibility for organising work of self, managing information, decision making and planning and prioritising to achieve business results. Assisting the Store Manager in the implementation of plans to achieve said targets, identifying ways to improve the business, dealing with customer complaints that fall within Company guidelines, maximise on opportunities to increase store sales and square foot occupancy levels, assisting in the preparation of monthly marketing plan, suggesting ideas that may be relevant to the marketing of the store, carry out planned marketing activity, including visiting local businesses and manning stands at local fairs/supermarkets and suggest any improvements that can be made to future plans, analyse the competitive market place and update the competitor shop on a monthly basis, carry out all health & safety checks within the store as required, record any accidents on site and escalate if appropriate, clean and check vacated rooms, identify and report any potential health and safety issues on site, assisting in the provision of training in respect of Health & Safety requirements. Including manual handling, fire safety and evacuation procedures and COSHH, ensuring all HR admin is communicated promptly. Including starter documentation, changes to personal details and absence information, any other duties as requested by the Manager.
The successful candidate will have managerial experience within retail of a hotel front of house environment. You will have a proven track record of selling as well as being numerate and literate with the ability to understand and read budgets.
You will be confident in dealing with people and prepared to go out and complete marketing activities.
You must be flexible regarding working hours as we sometimes complete marketing outside of normal store hours (Generally first thing in the morning or early evening)
