£16,518 (AIO) - £21,947 (IO) plus approximately 28% variable allowance for annual hours working plus location allowance of £3,020 if based at London Bridge or £1,240 if based in Hounslow

The UKBA Immigration Compliance and Engagement Teams devise and deliver tactical plans in response to intelligence received. They work with public bodies and local partners to enforce and ensure compliance with immigration laws for the benefit of the community and the economy. This includes tracking down illegal migrants and targeting companies that flout the rules by employing workers illegally.

We are currently looking for people that enjoy working with the public and a wide range of stakeholders to join us as Assistant Immigration Officers to complete an accredited training programme over a period of 11 - 18 months and progressing to becoming an Immigration Officer.

You will undertake a range of activities which support the detection, apprehension and removal of immigration offenders. Specific duties will include:

Carrying out enforcement operations, including driving official vehicles, transporting of offenders, searching property or persons, collecting, preserving and recording evidence. You may also need to effect forced entry and safely handle dangerous objects. You may also be required to arrest immigration offenders in line with official personal safety training techniques.

We are looking for people who are flexible, able to solve problems and are customer focused. In order to be eligible to apply candidates need a full manual driving licence along with a degree in any subject at 2:2 or above or experience in a law enforcement role.
