This well-established electrical engineering company in Northampton is looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual with good personal and communication skills, the ability to show initiative and be successful in a competitive working environment.

The vacancy is for an employed Level 2 or 3 apprenticeship in Business and Administration and the employer is looking for applicants aged between 16 and 18 years old.

Applicants will must have a 'hands-on' approach, positive attitude, be confident and polite and be prepared to learn.

Initially the role will include, but is not restricted to:

• Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional, efficient manner, taking and forwarding messages when necessary
• Opening, sorting and routing incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail
• Operating office machines such as the photocopier, scanner and facsimile
• Photocopying, collating and distributing documents for staff across the organisation
• Preparing and filing documents accurately and promptly
• Maintaining and updating the filing system
• Archiving of files and paperwork
• Greeting and meeting visitors
• Basic IT skills (including MS Excel and MS Word)

As part of the apprenticeship programme, you will also train towards the following nationally-recognised qualifications, depending on your prior achievements (delivered by JTM):

• Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration
• Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration
• Functional Skills - Maths, English and ICT
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

or

• Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration
• Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration
• Functional Skills - Maths, English and ICT
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
