Job Description
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a professional experienced in search technology to join a world renowned organisation working on a high-profile project. The role will involve working on interesting projects, and will provide you with the challenges and variation that you are looking for.
Over 150 million items are stored on the database, and this is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a sound understanding of Unix to help to create, deliver and support an application on an unprecedented scale. In addition to being comfortable in the use of Unix, experience of using XML would be very useful, and exposure in any of the following areas will further increase your chances of being successful in your application:
HTML
CCS
Javascript
Ajax
Web 2.0 Technologies
Lucene
Oracle
An understanding of ITIL
You should have a wide range of skills and experience in real troubleshooting. Search technologies, service management and systems analysis are all things which we would hope you have previous experience in. In addition to the above, the successful applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be happy to correspond with other departments.
