The Role
Based in the Midlands our client is looking for a permanent Support Analyst to provide 2nd line support to offices throughout the UK
The role will include carrying out software testing and implementation of bug fixes and amendments, as well as liaising closely with 3rd parties and head office users.
You will be required to build an understanding of business processes to help identify areas that could be improved.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Investigate issues on the on the in-house merchandising system and bring to resolution as efficiently as possible.
- Out of hours (including weekends) support for iSeries Applications
- Document resolutions clearly.
- Ensure effective communication to IT Staff and end users
- Documentation of operating procedures
- Creation of test scripts and test plans, perform testing and implementation of software.
Key competencies required for the role:
- Technical AS400 knowledge including Query, CL and RPG
- An excellent knowledge of iSeries / AS400 and it associated functions, including EPOS is required, as well as a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Candidates must have good communication skills and be capable of liaising with 3rd parties in a professional manner.
- Be extremely customer focused
- Plan, prioritise and co-ordinate own work effectively
- Able to work on own initiative to solve problems when required
- Good documentation skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Accurate, thorough and organised
