Application Developer
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £30,000-£35,000

An exciting IT position has arisen in a very large and well respected insurance broker. The role will require an experience Applications Developer to support live service of in-house and 3rd party applications within the Property & Commercial Insurance division of our clients group.
The successful IT professional will be required to design and develop solutions to provide additional reports and enhanced functionality.
You will be based in the central office with requirements to travel to other Group sites to provide support as required.

Responsibilities

Database administration including backups, restores, security requirements, patching, upgrades etc
Assist the business in production of reports and import/export routines
Solution development and maintenance using VB.NET and SQL
Root cause analysis of reported issues and bug fixing
Liaison with end users within business unit
Work closely with other members of the IT team
Liaison with 3rd parties, primarily SSP

Skills

Ability to communicate complex IT language across the business
Degree (IT related preferred) desirable
Crystal Reports Knowledge needed
IT experience in a financial institution (preferably Insurance)
Oracle, VB.NET
Knowledge of SSP Insight broker back office systems desirable
SQL scripting, Report building
Windows Forms desirable
