Analytical Chemist

The focus of this group is to provide analytical support to the development of early stage synthetic processes to prepare drug candidates for preclinical and clinical studies.  The group also supports early development synthesis on multiple kilo scale in a pilot plant facility located on site.

We are seeking a graduate Analytical Chemist to work in a team-based environment and contribute to the Process Research pilot plant facility.  A functional knowledge of organic chemistry and of standard analytical techniques is required.  The role is fast-paced, requiring rapid resolution of project issues in association with the synthetic chemist as they arise, and involves the use of a wide variety of techniques including HPLC, GC, IR, MS and SFC.

Proven experience in a fast moving analytical laboratory would be a distinct advantage along with a knowledge of physical characterisation of active pharmaceutical ingredients, using TGA, DSC, XRPD and particle size measurement instrumentation.

Candidates should possess the ability to resolve problems, under pressure, in a fast and efficient manner. Working to local GxP standards you will require excellent practical skills and a good eye for detail, as well as documentation. You should have a willingness and flexibility to work cross functionally to support multiple functional areas as needs arise.  As a company dedicated to pursuing development within a team environment, you should have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Pay up to 35k based on experience

Length of contract is 12 months possible extension of 3 months
