AJAX / WEB GU I Developer

Our client is creating hosted versions both of their existing applications and new market offerings. Many of these applications will be hosted in a cloud environment.

This is a hands-on technical development role so the successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing and support.
 
The role is in the Newbury office but will involve working closely with teams in other design centres (notably Austin, Texas, and Linz, Austria), and able to travel to those locations on an occasional basis. 

Key responsibilities
The SaaS Architecture team is responsible for:
Defining, and delivering a shared architecture and components for all cloud and SaaS based products to leverage.
Working with other parties, both internally and externally as necessary.
Assisting in the roll-out of other development teams into SaaS and Cloud based offerings.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the success of the team goals (above), but is expected to contribute most actively to delivering a high quality web-based user interface for the platform.

Requirements
Education to Degree Level or equivalent in Computer Science or similar subject.
Either previous proven technical experience in software development, OR strong recent graduate or equivalent with demonstrable experience of AJAX & RIA. 
Strong technical software skills - analysis, design, debugging, etc.

Technical Skills
Previous proven experience in building AJAX based Rich Internet Applications (RIA).
Javascript, HTML,CSS  - with demonstrable experience.
Experience of jQuery and/or ExtJS frameworks. 
Experience of HTML5 advantageous.
Experience of building, deploying, and delivering commercial SAAS solutions advantageous.
Experience of deploying applications into Cloud architectures (Amazon EC2, Azure or others) highly advantageous.
