If so then read on as a wonderful opportunity exists at this Buckinghamshire based International Development charity for a Advocacy & Campaigns Manager to join their expanding team at an important time as they invest for the future and their continued successes. The successful candidate will take the lead on the development and implementation of the charity’s influencing work including targeted advocacy and (in collaboration with the Fundraising & Marketing team) popular campaigning including input to the design and development of digital and print materials. You will be taking the lead in the development and coordination of all advocacy and campaigning activities, advising the senior leadership team on the development of reactive and opportunistic policy statements as required. You will develop the charity’s profile within international development advocacy forums (e.g. BOND, Global Connections, DEVEX, etc), propose and develop a wide range of advocacy activities to gain media attention, identify high profile influencers then working to establish and develop relationships with them (e.g. Ministers, MP’s, Peers and Bishops, Think Tanks, Civil Servants, etc) and working with colleagues in the Fundraising & Marketing team to coordinate and integrate campaigning communications into the overall supporter journey. And there’s more! You can demonstrate excellent negotiation, influencing and relationship building skills and are a brilliant communicator across all mediums. You can show how you have developed and delivered policy and advocacy strategies and influenced policy changes. You have worked with senior level influencers and have experience of advocacy and campaigning in a similar role (charity, public or private sectors). There’s a lot to get your teeth into and the opportunity for international travel!
The charity’s ethos and mission is based on Christian values and though this role does not have a general occupational requirement under the Equality Act of 2010 for the post holder to be a practising Christian, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate sympathy with the Christian ethos of the organisation.
