IMMEDIATE START - CENTRE LOCATION!!!
BLC is a busy language school teaching English as a second language to international students who want to progress their careers, go on to university, or for leisure. Further details can be found on our website.
We have a team of 10 teachers and 7 admin staff with additional staffing in the peak summer months. The administrative team is responsible for student enrolments, marketing and sales, accommodation and finance.
This is a full-time position with a contract for 4 months.
Line Management :
The Admissions Assistant will be line managed and supervised by the Admissions and Visa Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Admissions
- Answering email enquires
- Processing applications received from EU students, agents
- Processing junior applications
- Collecting consent forms, flight details, airport transfer details, all payments received prior to arrival for juniors
- Liaising with Accommodation Officer about any accommodation enquires
- Using CLASS to keep aware of arriving or departing students for financial and booking details purposes
- Chasing departing students to confirm any extenders
- Chasing non-visa students for payments and flight details 4 weeks ahead on weekly bases
- Assisting with summer group bookings - entering data into database, synchronising important details such as meet and greet with flight details and bus arrival time, social programme, payments
Accommodation
- Sending out and receiving host-family applications
- Arranging airport transfers for arriving and departing students
- Organizing residence bookings (on spreadsheet and Class)
- managing damage deposit payments/refunds
- Helping with placing students when necessary
- Contacting hosts with student arrival details
- Entering new home-stay data onto CLASS database
- Archiving
Other Responsibilities
- Attending weekly team meetings
- In the case of absence of other admin team members, be prepared to assist covering with other team members if requested by your line manager
- Report any admin problems or difficulties to your line manager
- Any other tasks as deemed appropriate to the role
- Follow any general staff procedures such as signing in and out of the building
- Act in a professional manner at all times whilst in the Centre
