Our client a large National Retail Company are looking for an Accounts Manager for their group to join this dynamic and thriving finance department in Manchester.

This is a key role which retains the responsibility for the oversight and control of the business units' financial records for UK and branch offices.

Job Description:

The maintenance of the Sage accounting records for the London Office with other associated activities
The preparation of monthly financial reports for subsequent consolidation
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in particular the sub ledger control and bank accounts
The maintenance of the registers and associated accounting records for the assets, both tangible and intangible owned by the Company
The control and expedition of intercompany transactions within the group companies
Principal point of escalation for the activities of the department and the direct reports
Manage relationship with Banks used by UK
Provide input to the Balance Sheet and Planning activities
Control and support of the VAT activities within the business
Control and review of the Budget / RF forecasting process
Undertake review of monthly reporting
Facilitate the Statutory Audits
Undertake reviews of current processes, identify improvements and facilitate the required change
Maintain links with the user departments - Sales, Production, Editorial and identify where the Financial Accounting processes need to react to the changing business needs
Ensure resolution of business, supplier and author queries in line with agreed service levels
Monitoring of the SLA particularly for large cash payments
Any other duties as reasonably requested

Education/Skills:
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant, with Staff Management experience and a good Knowledge of Sage. You must also be able to communicate both orally and in writing in both Senior Management and subordinate staff.
