My client, one of the UK's most recognisable retail brands, is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant opening within their Financial Shared Service Centre in the City Centre of Manchester. Due to ongoing business development as a result of the prolonged period of growth and success that has been achieved in recent years, they are now in a position to recruit for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their experienced and charismatic finance team in Manchester.

Reporting directly into the Control Manager, the successful candidate will take up a key role in guiding the invoice transition process within the Accounts Receivable team. A core element of the position will be monitoring and analysing high volumes of data from the SAP system with the view to improving accuracy in team performance, reporting these findings into key stakeholders. For this reason, it is important that applicants have the ability to display strong working knowledge of systems, Oracle or SAP are certainly of benefit and advanced excel skills are a necessity. The fast moving, high profile nature of the business means that tight financial control must be ensured at all times through understanding of financial risks and opportunities. Close liaison with both the cash reconciliation and accounts receivable teams will be a key factor in ensuring financial control, as the role requires a candidate capable of assisting in driving efficiency and control improvements within the teams as the business enters an exciting stage of transition.

The ideal candidate will be able to display a strong and varied background across financial systems, especially a proficient ability on excel to Macro level. Communication skills are essential, as due to the customer faced and internal liaising elements of the role, professional and personable communication is an important factor. The retail industry is a fast paced and high volume environment and therefore the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise working responsibility is also a high priority for the right candidate.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and experienced finance assistant looking to join a growing and talented finance team in the Centre of Manchester. The ethos of the business is to encourage the growth of its employees and consequently there are very real possibilities for opportunities to develop further down the line.
