Job Description

The Accounts Assistant has responsibility for supporting the full range of Accounts Department activities on both the purchase ledger and sales ledger. Reporting to the Finance Director and supporting the Management Accountant, this role also liaises with Partners, other staff members and suppliers to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of essential financial processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Processing of purchase invoices and credit notes, including credit card statements and expenses claims
- Matching to delivery notes as appropriate and obtaining authorisation for invoice and credit notes
- Processing remittances to suppliers
- Processing payments by BACS and cheque
- Following up purchase ledger queries
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Posting disbursements onto the Work in Progress ledger
- Month end reports and procedures for sales and purchase ledger
- Posting of sales ledger receipts
- Bank reconciliations
- Maintenance of petty cash records

Person Specification

* Previous proven experienced gained within a similar and busy role
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to manage own workload effectively
* Self confident with the ability to work with people at all levels
* Ability to work to strict and demanding deadlines
* First class communication and interpersonal skills
