Accounts Assistant

Our client is an expanding business and is currently looking for somebody who is experienced in working with Sales and Purchase Ledgers.  My clients business has gone from strength to strength over the last 5 years.

 QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS: 

  • Strong Excel skills (experience of pivot tables desirable)
  • Good working knowledge of Accounts processes and procedures
  • Previous experience using computerised Accounts systems

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Purchase Ledger
    • Registration of all invoices received in a timely and accurate manner
    • Receive all invoices; sort, photocopy and distribute copies as appropriate through the authorisation procedures
    • Matching invoices with purchase orders using a computerised system
    • File original Purchase Invoices pending authorisation
    • Data entry of Purchase Invoices onto Pegasus Accounts system
  • Sales Ledger
    • Provide assistance and support to the Credit Controller as required
    • Receive cheque payments / BACS remittance advices from clients; update Sales Ledger records and preparation of paying in slips for banking
  • General
    • Monitor Accounts 'In Tray’ and 'In Box’; distribute or attend to issues therein as appropriate.
    • Inputting timesheets on to the job costing module as required
    • Establish and maintain good working relationships with all suppliers, clients and colleagues.
    • Liaison with clients, suppliers and other departments to investigate and resolve written and telephone queries, often of a complex and sensitive nature.
    • Maintain the integrity of Pegasus Opera accounts system and all supporting paperwork & files; filing & archiving as required.
    • Provide assistance and support to colleagues and other team members as required.
    • Ad hoc reports and tasks as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge in Pegasus Opera
  • Knowledge of CIS legislation
  • Knowledge of VAT legislation

The position is 37.5hrs per week Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5:00pm

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to carry out such other duties as may be required and as may be assigned by the Directors from time to time.
