We currently require an Accounts Assistant for our Accounting Services Department in our Stoke on Trent office.
About the Role
You will be assisting the department with the preparation of client accounts and will provide efficient and effective accountancy services to a range of clients. Specifically you will:
Prepare accounts in accordance with the pre-assignment instructions for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies from client records.
Carry out duties assigned by the manager efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firms procedures. To ensure contact is maintained with the senior to ensure he / she is fully informed of assignment progression and any matters arising from work undertaken.
Prepare tax computations both personal and corporate.
Clear all review points raised on the work prior to files being passed to partners.
Obtain an understanding of the clients’ financial systems and to ensure these are being correctly operated by clients and staff.
Input data on excel spreadsheets and the accounts production software.
To summarise and analyse numerical information on behalf of our clients.
About You
You’ll need to bring a minimum of five GCSEs at grades A to C (including at least a grade B in Maths and English Language), or a minimum of five Standard Grades at grades 1 to 3 (including at least a grade 2 in Maths and English). Plus at least 260 UCAS points (excluding General Studies), or equivalent. You'll also be AAT part or fully qualified.
The ideal candidate will have experience from professional practice.
