To manage the day to day progression of the accounts/s.
Fully understand the accounts customer needs / profile.
Work with the designer seasonally to ensure a new range is developed suitable to that customer, covering price points / options and product range. Designer to have primary responsibility for creative input but assistant account manager should also inject into this.
Develop product areas that we can manufacture but may not currently be supplying to that customer.
Clearly inputting information into the factories in order to get samples back on time for selection dates.
Compile, update and maintain development sample critical path to ensure samples are on schedule for customer selection.
Attend customer meetings following selection with manager / director to cover option detail and input all required samples.
Follow the critical path to ensure product is tested / fit / approved etc – correctly and to date.
Input testing, fit and buying samples and chase their progress daily.
Daily review of product, development and testing critical path, report any anomalies to account manager.
Day to day factory emails, chasing samples / prices / testing.
Develop samples back for meetings / materials etc and request account manager support / intervention where needed.
Report any product/ technical/ development/ material problems to manager initially with your suggested action plan first. Try to identify potential solutions as opposed to relying on manager to supply them.
Check and approve any sample that is to go into a customer or to be tested before submitting to account manager for their approval.
G/S etc should be checked off and tick form completed by assistant then signed off by account manager and director, prior to be sent to customer.
Assistants to also attend customer meetings as much as possible where seen suitable. Assistants are not to attend customer meetings unattended unless it is to literally drop something off in reception.
General critical path, catch up and testing meetings if there are no problems should be attended by account manager and assistant account manager.
Day to Day customer contact, wherever possible to be handled by assistant. All email correspondence to customers should be cc’d into account manager and any phone conversation to be shared at all times.
Ensure your account manager is fully knowledgeable of all customer contact, although they may not be dealing with it directly.
The customer should feel the assistant is equipped to give any information required.
Prices and price negotiations with factories to be carried out initially by assistant account manager and passed to account manager when needed in a timely manner to ensure time is not lost.
