Established in 1967, our client is a leading independent publisher of global research with impact in business, society, public policy and education. In total, they publish over 700 titles, comprising of 200 journals, nearly 300 books and more than 200 book series, as well as an extensive range of online products and services.

THE ROLE
As a key member of the European sales team, your prime focus will be to work with a Business Manager to support and enable the achievement of sales objectives in the countries of Western Europe and provide additional support to North Africa, Egypt and the Palestinian Territories. This will be achieved through targeted and effective sales, marketing and support activities. Your responsibilities will include:

* Managing and undertaking renewal/up-sell campaigns to the region, in conjunction with the Business Manager.
* Directly contacting customers to create a profitable customer relationship primarily through telephone contact.
* Supporting the Business Manager in the renewal of all business at the end of the agreement by providing accurate customer and product information in a timely manner and supporting the preparation of the information and documentation necessary to complete the renewal, including proposals and licences.
* Providing accurate and timely customer information, detailing subscriptions and prices for use in proposals, licenses and management information, in a format that is easily accessible;
* Communicating agreed pricing/licenses to the Customer Operations department;
* Working with the Marketing Manager to produce and design promotional campaigns,including country specific brochures;
* Planning and Managing conferences within a set budget;
* Developing regionally focused advertising, PR campaigns and conference/exhibition attendance to raise awareness of our clients products and services, with the ultimate aim of generating qualified leads.
* Undertaking a verification and qualification process on generated leads, to establish a genuine need to purchase. Passing all qualified leads to the relevant Business Manager to be followed up.
* Planning and undertaking campaigns to generate new leads, using the full marketing mix including direct mail, e-mails, promotional literature, telemarketing, advertising and event management.
* Undertaking product training and account development with existing and prospective customers.
* Providing office-based support for customers, responding to queries when Business Managers are out of the office.
* Creating and distributing welcome packs to all customers.
* Working in conjunction with Business Managers, proposing an annual marketing budget for the region in line with the guidelines specified, and ensuring activities remain within budget.

THE PERSON
You will be a dynamic, determined Account Manager with strong experience in an account management, customer service or marketing role. The ability to speak and write fluently in French is essential, as is the flexibility to be available for some international travel when required. You will need to be a strong and articulate negotiator, combining this with strong analytical skills and creative/lateral thinking.

You will have good written and verbal communication skills, and possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, together with the ability to represent the company externally. You must be able to work on your own initiative and meet demanding deadlines. Computer literacy, including experience of MS Office is essential.
