Job description: Temporary Helpdesk Support Analyst
Location: Guildford
Salary: £ 8.00 - 12.00 per hour
Main purpose of the role:
Providing technical support to our clients in a variety of business sectors including Oil and Gas and Accountancy.
Main duties:
- Provide 1st line remote technical support to our clients
- Taking calls from clients and logging tickets
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Use and update documentation
- Solve technical problems for clients
- Research issues and find solutions
- Staying abreast of the latest developments in the technologies we employ
- Perform daily backup and performance checks for clients
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Essential
- Education: Two A-Levels grade C or above (one Computing) or equivalent qualification in computing or 1 years’ experience in any IT support role
- Ability to type at approximately 40wpm
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Enthusiastic with a "can-do" attitude
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Windows XP/Vista/7 client operating systems
- Windows 2003 or 2008 server and active directory administration
- Exchange 2003 and 2007 administration
Desirable
- Experience in installing, supporting or administering any of the following specific technologies:
- Symantec Backup Exec
- SymantecAntivirus or Endpoint Protection
- Watchguard Firewall devices
- TCP/IP including using utilities/ functions such as DHCP, WINS, DNS, NSLOOKUP, TRACERT & PING
- Experience in the Oil and Gas or Accountancy markets

The individual who fills this role will be positive and up-beat, ready to get involved and be a part of the technical team. They will have great 1st line technical skills, coupled with the ability to gather information and produce timely results for the customer.
A proactive approach is essential alongside great personal skills.
