JOB PURPOSE:

To receive customer orders and data files, process according to the relevant instructions, providing complete manufacture to satisfy customer requirements

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Ensure timely and accurate entry of customer requirements into the production databases and systems to enable manufacture of stencils

2. Process CAD data files using customer and job specific specifications into format required for lasers and for final inspection

3. Provide the necessary, pro-active, customer contacts regarding the progress and specifications of stencils using telephone, Fax, Email or Internet where appropriate, providing our customers with world class service in ordering stencils

4. Implement all relevant procedures in ISO9001, Health & Safety policy and Investors in People projects, ensuring that current best practices are in operation to reduce the number of internal or customer rejects

5. Preparation for and loading on to laser cutting machines to create stencils from CAD data supplied by customers

6. Carry out finishing, final inspection and despatch of every stencil, ensuring that all data on Job Ticket has been verified against final product. Accurate completion of production data from stencil using relevant forms to give traceable manufacture of the product from start to finish

7. Preparation for, and timely despatch using appropriate carriers, of all stencils to meet customer schedule

8. Perform basic calibration and maintenance procedures to ensure production equipment is achieving relevant quality standards

9. (Optional) Provide local IT support for both company wide systems and site applications

 

 

10. (Optional) To oversee the CAD room, production resource and Schedule ensuring that the stencil output achieves or exceeds customer specification

11. (Optional) To liase with site management teams and other functional specialists when necessary to ensure matters affecting process, product or service quality are resolved. Initiate and participate in appropriate meetings internally, or with customers, to develop productive relationships that create value and drive costs from the business in the pursuit of continuous improvement

 


KEY CHALLENGES

The necessity to remain customer focussed under pressures from various directions. Accuracy and attention to details in all activities must be maintained to the highest level. Balancing the technical demands of the function with the time constraints applied by customers, whilst ensuring maximum accuracy is retained.

JOB SKILLS


Computer literate (MS Office, Notes, JDE, Approach, QSI)
CAD/CAM (Lavenir, GCcam)
Product Knowledge (Web site based)
H&S Requirements (Regulations, Cookson 10, Site Information booklet)
Quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 8D, MSA…..)
Fork lift operation
Use of inspection equipment, including eyeglass microscopes
Optional - IT Support – (PC operating systems, Internet and Notes admin, Approach programming)
Optional - Dimensions Administration Backup (Valor, ODB++, Dimensions)
Optional - Laser cutting machines – installation, maintenance and development.
