Roehampton Club is a private members' Club offering a unique mix of sports, health, beauty and hospitality in South West London. We are currently recruiting for a;
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER (Maternity Cover / 6-12 months)
Reporting to Chief Executive / Full time position
Job Purpose:
To manage all aspects of the employee life cycle and provide advice and guidance on generalist, operational and strategic HR issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• To manage and support line managers in all aspects of employee relations including Recruitment & Retention, Absence Management, Disciplinary and Grievance situations, Employee Training & Development.
• To develop and implement policies and procedures in line with current statutory legislation.
• To advise management and staff on employment issues and ensure adherence to policies and processes defined by statutory legislation and/or within the Staff Handbook.
• To liaise with the Club’s Insurers in regard to formal processes, such as dismissals.
• To support the Chief Executive in ensuring the organisation is structured effectively to reflect the needs of the business
• To support the Finance section in the management of outsourced payroll services.
• To co-ordinate training and development requirements across the Club.
• To actively build employee relations through consultative committees, such as Staff Representatives.
• To ensure there is an active programme of communication to staff, including the creation of the bi-monthly newsletter, regular staff updates / announcements and quarterly site presentations.
• To manage the Investors in People accreditation.
• To manage and regularly review Employee Benefits including an annual review of the Club’s Reward and Recognition scheme.
• To manage staff accommodation and tenancies.
• To co-ordinate Child Protection Practices including being trained as a CRB verifier by the National Tennis Centre.
• To build relationships with preferred suppliers, ensuring efficient and cost effective HR solutions / training is delivered.
• To manage all aspects of the human resources department.
• To undertake monthly Duty Manager shifts at the weekend.
• To actively participate as a Senior Manager within the Strategic Team.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
• CIPD qualified (either fully qualified or part qualified studying towards full qualification).
• Communicate clearly and persuasively, in a way that generates excitement, enthusiasm and commitment.
• Deal with changes in priority, juggle a number of activities and continue to remain effective.
• Run and maintain effective administration systems and processes.
• Be commercially aware and numerate
• Able to work effectively under pressure and to strict and tight deadlines
• Ability to deal effectively and establish rapport with people at all levels
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure with a flexible approach
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
• Experience working in a challenging environment
• Ideally, you will have worked within an SME type company and you will demonstrate being able to work of your own initiative and in close proximity to Management.
