An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team of a rapidly growing Oxford-based education company, Oxford Study Courses. Established in 1990, the company is the world’s leading provider of revision courses for International Baccalaureate students. OSC currently operates in 3 different countries and publishes a series of Revision Guides.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinating the receipt and recording of all payments (via cash, cheque, bank transfer and manual credit card payments) made by and/or on behalf of enrolling students.

• Tracking and monitoring payments to ensure that the full course fee is received prior to the course commencement date.

• Taking appropriate action to request the balance of any overdue payments.

• Managing the reconciliation of all payments made.

• Managing any last minute booking payments.

• Supporting finance administration activity during revision course periods including taking receipt of fees for courses and revision guides.

• Recording and chasing outstanding payments for the purchases of revision guides.

• Managing the office petty cash procedure.

• Managing all purchase ledger activity including processing purchase invoices.

• Updating internal accounting systems including Sage.

• Assisting with additional ad-hoc administration duties as and when required.


Person Specification

• Educated up to at least A-level standard (or equivalent), ideally with numeracy qualifications and/or experience of working in an office/administration role.

• A methodical and logical individual with very strong and accurate administration skills.

• Has the ability to learn and develop new systems and processes, and to work without close supervision.

• Has an excellent level of written and spoken English.

• Has excellent attention to detail.

• A self-motivated and proactive team player.

• Has exceptional organisational and time management skills.

• Possesses a flexible and can-do attitude.

• Has an excellent level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.

This job offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company working in their offices based in a delightful area of Oxford. 

Please note that due to the nature of this role, holiday may not be possible during peak Easter and Summer holiday periods. Please also note that weekend work may also be required during these peak periods.
