Production Manager

The  Company operates in a highly competitive beverage market and directly manages relationships with all its customers, reaching all points of sale covering home deliveries and deliveries to small stores, supermarkets, hotels, bars and restaurants.  Deliveries  are carried out every day of the year. 

Job Description

To develop, implement and supervise production plans and strategies, including budgets for Capital expansion of operations, plant expansion, major expenditures for facilities and equipment. To incorporate official sales forecasts into production planning.  To coordinate with the Maintenance Manager the planning of equipment preventive maintenance to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained. To evaluate new product concepts for manufacturing capabilities; check and ensure the budget limits for such products.  
To coordinate with the Purchasing Manager the order quantities and delivery dates of all raw materials and packaging materials.   To work together with the QA Manager and the Maintenance Manager to ensure a high yield at Start-up, during production and at shut down on the bottling lines.  To ensure that all personnel in the Production Department adhere to food hygiene regulations and behave to the highest standards.
Accountable for :  
The running of the Production Department keeping within budgets producing quality products to meet Market Demands. To Excel in Quality and maximise Raw material Yields  ensuring that production efficiency is maximised and  ensuring that the Health & Safety of Production Employees is always maintained.   


Person Specification

You should be able to demonstrate a background in Production, Manufacturing or Operations Management. You may be educated to HNC/HND or Degree level in Production Management or Manufacturing Systems and will have at least 4 years commercial experience. Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience of any manufacturing environment - e.g. Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Chemical or Electronics.

Above all else you must be a confident leader and have excellent people management skills. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear track record of improving productivity and efficiency KPIs within a production facility. You should have good communication and influencing skills and be determined to drive through continuous improvements.
