The Role
The role will involve working as part of the Service Design and Delivery Team responsible for delivering IT solutions to our clients. The Service Design and Delivery Team work closely with Octavia’s Service Desk and projects will range from workstation roll outs to complete “Green Field” Network implementations. Additionally the Service Design and Delivery Team are responsible for Research & Development and identifying new technologies which our clients could utilise to improve the effectiveness of their IT systems.

The successful candidate will have significant IT experience with a proven track record of working on successful Network projects. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Networking, Microsoft Operating Systems and server platform products. Experience in VMware and Hyper-V technologies is required, as are relevant Microsoft Certifications (preferably an MCITP or MCSE).

You must be able to demonstrate a structured methodical approach to systems design and implementation and be able to deal face-to-face with a broad range of customers. Pre-sales experience, both designing and writing project proposals will be a crucial part of the role.

Required skills
The successful applicant MUST have a good working knowledge of the following:
• Windows Server 2003 / 2008 (Standard, Enterprise and SBS)
• MS Exchange Server 2003 / 2007
• SQL Server 2005 / 2008
• SharePoint Server (WSS & MOSS)
• VMware ESX 4.0/3.5 and ESX 4i/3.5i
• Server & Desktop hardware
• TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS
• Active directory
• Backup Exec all versions
• Router / Firewall setup and configuration
• Managed Switch and VLAN configuration.
• Pre sales and solution design experience

Nice to have skills
• Cisco Firewall Exposure (PIX/ASA)
• ISA Server
• IIS and Web Hosting
• Domain Management / Migrations

This technical knowledge will be supported by a first rate awareness and understanding of a broad range of hardware and software products.
