Job specification: Management Accountant

The company was set up from scratch by the existing CEO 8 years ago and has gone from strength to strength, offering a range of travel products both direct to consumers and through trade agents. Although based in London, there are satellite offices in Dublin, Berlin & Hertfordshire.

Rapid expansion and diversion has created the need for an experienced management accountant to assist the FC in helping move the business forward.

You will have at least 3 years experience in role giving you transferable skills, and will be at least PQ CIMA / ACCA / ACA.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for carrying out a range of administrative tasks including:
- Producing monthly management accounts from Quickbooks, with the support of a part time bookkeeper. In 6 months you will need to assist with recruiting and training a full time bookkeeper/assistant
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Identifying areas of potential cost savings
- Providing detailed sales analysis & reconciliations
- Suggesting & implementing improved controls & procedures
- Reconciling travel bookings from systems to supplier invoices
- Maintaining accurate stock control records
- Payment of suppliers & debt control
- Providing support with ad-hoc projects
- Based in South London with occasional travel to Stevenage, Dublin, Germany

Person specification:
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, detailed formulas)
- Confident approach to solving problems, obtaining results from numerous sources
- Experience in carrying out reconciliations and generally confident in working with numbers
- Strong attention to detail whilst staying aware of the bigger picture
- Effective communicator and strong team player
- Happy to work on your own initiative and take ownership of projects
