Junior Developer, IT, Bodmin

The Company - Our Client:

Our client provides clinical systems for hundreds of GPs across the United Kingdom. As a wholly privately owned company our client has always been able to focus and engage directly with customers, maintaining a consistently high standard of support and customer satisfaction. They cover every aspect of design, production, manufacture, installation, training and support both for the clinical systems and retail PCs. They are now looking for a Junior Software Developer to be based at their office in Bodmin.

The Role - Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain modules for our integrated medical practice software (PM), using C/C on UNIX and Windows operating systems.

- Interpret requirement specifications and translate them into programme design specifications, in line with statutory requirements and project timescales.

- Develop software, as instructed by senior programmers and Technical Manager, using design specifications, produced either by the post holder, or other members of the software team.

- To enhance previously developed software for the purpose of gaining accreditation and/or meeting customer demands, thereby increasing our market share.

- Investigate and analyse software issues as and when required, and to resolve those anomalies to a Company standard.

- Provide technical documentation, covering all aspects of the post holder`s programming and analytical processes.

The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

- The post holder should have relevant qualifications in computer science and be able to write in C/C in a UNIX or Windows environment.

- Having some knowledge of QT and SQL would be an advantage.

- Also desirable would be a sound working knowledge of software development and experience of working in a team.

- Experience with medical systems would be a bonus.

- Good verbal and written communications skills are necessary.

The Package - What You Could Earn:

- Basic salary up to £18,000
