Overview
Pharmacology is a biomedical science that deals with research, discovery and characterization of chemicals, its sources, chemical properties, biological effects and therapeutic use of drugs. It also studies the effects of drugs on living organisms. Pharmacology studies leads to discoveries of new drugs, discover new therapies, and develops other medicinal products that treat specific diseases.
Pharmacology also deals with potential hazardous effects of pesticides and herbicides. It also deals with discovering a chemical’s therapeutic value or potential toxicity.
Pharmacology is sub-divided in two areas: Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics.
Pharmacodynamics deals with molecular, biochemical and physiological effects of drugs on a cellular system while Pharmacokinetics deals with absorption, distribution and excretion of drugs.

Description
At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) understand the basics of Pharmacology; (2) administer drugs; (3) understand Pharmacokinetics; and (4) understand how drugs operate.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
The challenges that are present in pharmacology are endless since a discovery may lead to many other pressing questions. Even though it leads to many other pressing questions nonetheless pharmacology has a great impact to our lives.

Course Format
This course is divided into several modules and is delivered online through our interactive learning management system. Students are given access to the learning portal where they can access the course 24/7. This gives them complete control over the pace of their learning while also enabling them to study from home, in their offices or from a laptop while traveling.
Course Duration:
