Description

Health and Social Care is both a vocation and passion. It enforces a very positive impact on the lives of the people being cared for. Providing health and social care is both challenging and rewarding. Aside from genuine passion to serve, you have to possess the knowledge and skills necessary to better perform your health care and social work duties.

Communication is vital in this profession. Some patients being cared for may not be able to communicate what they need verbally which requires the carer to demonstrate his non-verbal communication skills such as the ability to be able to read body language in order to better serve the patients.

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) differentiate diversity and equality in health and social care; (2) understand the duty of care; (3) adhere to safety practices; (4) perform health care and social work duties; (5) care for patients in a person centered way; (6) understand health and safety; (7) develop everyday skills; (8) use facilities; (9) communicate and interact; and (10) administer medication.

To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.

Health and social care is a noble profession. This course is an ideal way to learn and get qualified in providing health and social care within the boundaries of professionalism, ethics and protective care.

For Certification: To achieve a Certificate of Training, trainees must pass an online test that we will provide. This online exam may be taken any time, at the trainees’ convenience.

All assessments and exams shall be provided via online.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
