Overview
A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety certificate is awarded to all who successfully complete the course and all assessments.
For many the NEBOSH General Certificate is also a first step in a career in health and safety.
As well as providing a sound basis for further professional study, successful completion of the course enables you to apply for Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) and for the Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, allowing you to use AIIRSM after your name.
Who is it for?
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is designed for managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations, who require a broad understanding of health and safety issues
Description
The syllabus covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge.
The qualification is divided into three units:
- NGC 1: Management of Health and Safety
- NGC 2: Controlling workplace hazards
- NGC 3: Health and safety practical application
Exam:
To gain the certification you will have to sit 2 two hour assessments and a practical risk assessment.
These can be sat in the following cities and are £200 per exam:
Cardiff, Warrington, Leeds, Teesside, Heathrow, Central London, Brighton, Birmingham and Edinburgh
