What is the MTA?
The Microsoft Technology Associate is a new, entry-level certification designed to help individuals take the first step toward a career as an IT professional or developer. MTA is a new certification under the Microsoft Certification Program that validates the foundational knowledge needed to begin building a career in Microsoft technologies.

This course is designed to train candidates on the networking concepts. It is an ideal course for anyone using this as a stepping stone to the next level, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist exams. How will I take the exams?

This exam measures your ability to accomplish the technical tasks listed below. The percentages indicate the relative weight of each major topic area in the exam. The higher the percentage, the more questions you are likely to see on that content area in the exam.

• Manage the application life cycle (20%)
• Build the user interface (UI) by using HTML5 (27%)
• Format the user interface by using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) (23%)
• Code by using JavaScript (30%)

Requirements

Are there any prior training/ experience requirements?

No prior training or experience required. The MTA will start you off right at the beginning and get you up to a fundamental level of understanding which would prepare you for the exam, any entry level IT role and any further training in the field.

Career path

What jobs will I qualify for?

As the MTA is an introductory qualification, you would be looking at starting off with an apprentice level role.

However, if you go further in to the field and achieve an MCSD qualification within Windows Server you will be looking at earning up to an average of £75,000 per year
