Overview

This qualification is designed to offer learners of financial management the basic fundamentals of Islamic Finance and Banking. The learner will cover aspects associated with Islamic Finance and Banking from the prohibitions in taking or receiving interest and will also explore how Islamic Banking and Finance principles have evolved into structures.

Qualification Objective: 
Develop the theories, tools and techniques for aspiring and existing Senior Managers/Directors in the accounts and finance sectors 
Focus on current applied experience and practice and the underlying concepts of Islamic finance and banking from a strategic view point
Progress to, and credit against the standards of master degree programmes in higher education institutions

Assessment is through practical assignments and group projects, with no exams - to more accurately reflect the real working environment.

The qualification appears on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications as the ABE Level 6 Diploma in Applied Islamic Finance and Banking. The qualification number is 600/3456/7.

  • Concepts of Islamic Finance and Banking OR Essentials of Islamic Finance and Banking

 

Requirements

The minimum age to register for this programme is 18. Prospective students should note that the following entrance qualifications are required for those wishing to undertake this programme:

  • Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) or
  • Mature applicant, with qualification and work experience, who do not possess one of the above, may be admitted at the discretion of the Principal or Registrar and
  • IELTS 5.5 or CEFR level B2 (if applicable)
