Overview

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) is aimed at people who are currently undertaking a teaching role and are looking to further improve their teaching abilities and progress over the pathway to teacher status in the different sectors. This course could include individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements outlined in the mandatory and optional unit (including 3 teaching observations).

This course is running in several centres (venues) in London and you can book your place for upcoming dates. Places are limited for classroom as we keep maximum 10 learners per class and 50% deposit payment will secure your place.

Description

This course is delivered over 3 days and during those 3 days you will study 5 mandatory unit?s and selected optional unit/s cover 15 credits from followings:

Mandatory Unit;

Unit 01: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training (3 credits)

Unit 02: Delivering educationand training (6 credits)

Unit 03: Using resources for education and training (3 credits)

Unit 04: Assessing learners in education and training (6 credits)

Unit 05: Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training (3 credits)

Optional Units:

You are required to select one unit from following optional units:

Unit 30: Developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area (15 credits)

Unit 31: Effective partnership working in the learning and teaching context (15 credits)

It has several optional units those are not listed above and you can select any of t?hose optional units to cover 15 credits.

To be awarded the NCFE Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, learners must achieve a minimum of 36 credits: 21 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 15 credits from the optional units.

This course is delivered over 3 days and during those 3 days you will study 5 mandatory units and selected optional unit/s cover 15 credits from followings:

Method of Assessment:

Following the classroom based training;

  • Learners are issued with a selection of written assignments (portfolios) covering the 5 core units and selected optional unit/s. AND
  • Carried out 3 teaching observations as practical exam totalling a minimum of 3 hours in relation to Unit 2, 3 and 4.

Certification:

Successful candidates will receive a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training from NCFE an awarding body within England and Wales who are recognized by equal and Department for Education and Skills.

This is a nationally recognised qualification which allows you to progress into the Level 5 Diploma, and bringing you closer to being able to gain your QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills).

Who is this course for?

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a requirement for anyone currently undertaking a teaching role or looking to work in a Teaching role in an associate position.

Requirements

  • There are no nationally agreed entry requirements.
  • Minimum standards in language, literacy, numeracy and ICT are required to attend this course.
  • Learners should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification.
  • Relevant vocational/academic qualification (a Level 3 or above)
