Pairview’s unique pathway to break into this great career

Pairview’s IT Project Manager programme will provide the required skills and experience to secure one of these hugely in-demand roles which demand an average annual salary of £38,000 – £45,000. As an IT Project Manager, you would oversee the planning, development and installation of computer systems for organisations. You would be responsible for making sure projects are completed on time and on budget. You could work for an IT company or for any organisation which relies on IT systems, within private or public sectors. If you are well-organised and have excellent problem-solving and IT project management skills, you would be able to find opportunities for a rewarding career in this field. A qualification in PRINCE2® and ITIL® will not only boost your skills and confidence when managing projects but also greatly improve your employment prospects. Many organisations, both private and public, mandate the use of PRINCE2® and ITIL®, and therefore require their staff to be competent and qualified to practice the method. PRINCE2® is acknowledged as a primary method for managing all types of projects, while ITIL® portfolio enables IT professionals to learn how to deliver, support and manage IT services in an effective an efficient way.

To get into this career, you will need experience of working on projects, for example as part of a project support team. On top of being equipped with the technical and knowledge based skills, you will also gain hands-on experience through a Work Experience Project, which will allow you to work on the sample business scenarios in sample business environments and problems. You will receive the Work Experience Project once your programme is finished. The Work Experience Project is a 30-day project, and during this time period your trainers will be available to help you through your project one week after your project starts, and one week before your project submission date.

In order to enable your CV to be found in employer’s CV searches, we provide CV Surgery sessions to help you create your perfect CV that will help you get job offers for suitable roles. The CV surgery session is a 4-hour group session which you can join either online or on-site. Finally, when you get an interview, our consultants will guide you through interview questions and provide insight into how to promote your skills and experiences. The Interview Prep session is a 4-hour group session to which you can join either online or on-site.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
