Appsient are a mobile solutions provider, we create native business Apps for iPhones and iPads. To meet the increasing demand for smartphone developers and designers Appsient are offering training courses to help you secure a career in the fastest growing sector of the IT industry.
We run a structured programme of courses from a "taster day" to advanced iPhone/iPad development.
The courses we offer are:
1. Taster Day - get a simple App up and running on the iPhone simulator, learn you way around Xcode, cut and paste coding so you don't need to know Objective-C or Cocoa.
2. Beginning iPhone Development - Get to grips with Xcode, learn Objective-C and how to incorporate Cocoa frameworks into your Apps, control the User Interface, create and combine views and use tab bars to create a simple but functional App.
3. Intermediate iPhone - an in-depth look at Objective-C, deploying Apps, using hardware features such as camera, accelerometer and GPS, creating compelling UI with UIKit, introduction to networking, using data from external sources.
4. Advanced iPhone - advanced Objective-C, Core Data, advanced networking and data exchange using XML and/or JSON. Securing your data on the device and over the network.
5. Designing for iPhone/iPad - learn how to take advantage of the built-in features of the iPhone and iPad, how to use gestures and create custom gestures, prototyping - how to make wireframes and mock-ups.

It’s all down to giving a great User Experience and we’ll show you how to do that!
We’ll teach you how to make the best use of the limited screen space of the various Apple devices, why the number 44 is important and how to design for normal and retina displays.
We’ll take you through the major differences between designing for the iPhone and iPad and how to design a universal app that runs on both.
We’ll teach you how to build apps that conform to Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines – this is really important if you want to get your app on the Apps store.
We’ll show you why you should wireframe and prototype your apps and how to do it.
