COURSE ASSESSMENT

For each module there are two or three formal tutor-marked assessments which, when completed, should be sent to your tutor, via e-mail or conventional post. All of the information within the units is written in line with the requirements of the examination board specification and the demands of the examination.

All units are broken down into clear subject topics, and students should spend the amount of time studying for each topic as advised by their course tutor. Each topic module has been written for ease of understanding and topic coverage may be of different length and difficulty depending on the level of detail and information required. Investigate travel and tourism destinations
Identify and describe the features which attract tourists to a particular destination
Unit 3: Customer care and working procedures
Deal with customers and colleagues
Identify the essential personal skills required when working in the travel and tourism industry
Follow basic procedures when handling enquiries, making reservations and receiving money
Use reference sources to obtain information
Explore presentation and promotion of tourist facilities 
Unit 4: Travel and tourism products and services
Identify and describe tourism products
Explore the roles of tour operators and travel agents
Describe support facilities for travel and tourism
Explore the features of worldwide transport in relation to major international routes
