About this Course

This course is designed to teach and prepare you for the Edexcel IGCSE English Language course specification B. This course is designed to teach spelling, grammar, punctuation and a wide variety of literary techniques used in writing. We will look at using English in a variety of different forms and from different sources including fiction, letters and English used in the media.

IGCSEs are the International version of standard GCSEs and are used to accredit applicants to a standard of secondary education recognised globally.

Assessments

For this course you are provided with lessons and resources to teach the entire syllabus. As well as this you are required to submit and pass the tutor marked assignments for the course in order to receive your Online Learning College Diploma. These assignments are to prepare you for your English GCSE examination which is set by Edexcel and taken at a registered exam centre.

For this IGCSE there is a single examination which can be taken in January or June each year. To achieve the Edexcel qualification, students are required to organise their own examinations which are subject to an additional cost. Qualification

Available in over 40 subjects, Edexcel International GCSEs are academic qualifications aimed at learners aged 14 to 16. They’re equivalent to a UK General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE), and are the main requirement for progression to Level 3 studies.

International GCSEs are linear qualifications, meaning that students take all of the exams at the end of the course. They are available at Level 1 (grades D-G) and Level 2 (grades A*-C).
