Course Contents:
Prepare a financial statement for a not for profit organisation
Learning outcomes:
- Calculate the accumulated fund of members of a not for profit organisation
- Prepare ledger accounts for a not for profit organisation

Prepare a financial statement for a partnership
Learning outcomes:
- Prepare accounts for a partnership
- Account for a change in the structure of a partnership
Prepare a financial statement for a sole trader
Learning outcomes:
- Prepare a trial balance
- Make and apply accounting adjustments
- Prepare financial statements for a sole trader
- Prepare an extended trial balance
- Draft financial statements (for a sole trader) from an extended trial balance
Prepare financial statements from incomplete records
Learning outcomes:
- Calculate the capital contribution of the owner to a business
- Prepare accounts from incomplete records
- Prepare a trial balance
- Prepare financial statements (for a sole trader) from incomplete records
Prepare and complete VAT returns
Learning outcomes:
- Complete VAT returns accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate VAT information
Record transactions and make accounting adjustments

Assessment
The Level 3 Certificate in Manual Bookkeeping is assessed by two internally marked assignments and two external examinations. The exams can be taken at one of IAB's approved test centres located throughout the UK, and they cost approximately £35. We can assist you in finding a test centre convenient to you.
You must successfully pass the exams if you wish to gain the formal IAB qualification. However, if you prefer to study without formal assessment we can provide you with a certificate of achievement proving your completion of the course.
If you choose to register with IAB there will be an additional charge of £90, paid directly to IAB.
Requirements
No previous qualifications or experience are necessary to enrol on this course. However, we do recommend that you have at least a basic understanding of bookkeeping in order to successfully complete this course.
