Overview

Take your Graphic Design and software skills to the next level on this intensive Level 3 course. Develop your practice as a creative designer and produce a portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills though graphic communication. A strong focus on creative illustration, narrative design and typography through computer-aided design using the Adobe Creative Suite. We encourage you to develop skills through experimenting with materials and techniques as you work on a broad range of design briefs, with plenty of practical experience. If you are aged 24 or over then you may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan from the UK government to cover some or all of the costs for this course. Description

A great opportunity to explore your creative practice and produce a unique design portfolio. You will explore graphic design through inspiring project briefs and learn how to communicate information and visuals through the power of graphic design. You will study design concepts and techniques, colour, typography, layout and the following software: Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign. You will create various design solutions including logos, publicity material, packaging design, flat-plans, 3D mock-ups, interactive work, magazine/book layout, and advertising. You will also research design activities and techniques and get inspired by some of the great artists and designers.

Requirements

Level 3. This is an advanced course, ideal if you have completed a level 2 Graphic Design course or have some graphic design experience and want to push your creativity to the next level. You MUST be reasonably confident using Photoshop and have some experience of using Illustrator and/or InDesign or similar software. If you have some ?gaps? in your skills you may be able to catch-up on our ?refresher? days.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
