You will develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to make floral arrangements, using a range of materials and techniques, to a saleable standard.
Description
You will develop practical skills to design and produce a range of traditional and contemporary floral arrangements for table décor and free standing arrangements. Emphasis is placed on research to enhance design ideas. Design elements such as colour theory, contrasting surface textures are key to the successful creation of floral arrangements, you will learn the theory of design and apply this to your arrangements. You will produce a variety of arrangements using fresh plant material and a range of mechanics such as containers, floral tapes etc. You will learn how to identify plants by their botanical names and visual characteristics such as line, shape, texture, colour etc. You will be taught how to record designs in a stage by stage process developing a portfolio of work. You will produce time and cost sheets together with an evaluation of your projec
Requirements
This course is suitable for learners progressing form the City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate. Learners with practical experience will benefit from this industry standard qualification.
