Employers are legally required by Fire Safety Regulations (The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) to provide information, instruction and training to employees about fire precautions in the workplace. This Virtual College online fire safety course helps you to fulfil this obligation by providing your staff with the knowledge and understanding required to act safely in the event of a fire in the workplace, without the need to travel or take a full day away from the office.

The benefits of using online training in the workplace include:

  • Cost Reductions e.g. travel fees
  • Man hour reduction (training only takes as long as the learner needs)
  • Self-printed certificate for evidence of course completion
  • Staff can start training immediately
  • Helping your business maintain a green status by reducing your carbon footprint

All of our e-learning courses are SCORM compliant, meaning it can be paused by the user and picked up when they like, allowing freedom to complete the course in a time that fits around their workload. By allowing them to work at their own pace you can have peace of mind that everybody has received adequate information, without feeling the need to compete with their peers.

If you are responsible for training a large number of staff, you may be interested to hear more about our Learning Management System (LMS) that allows you to easily track and record who has received and completed the training. We offer a range of courses that cover all of your legal workplace training requirements, and these can be found in the Health and Safety Course Catalogue.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
